The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) have been an issue that has attracted much attention in recent years. In order to promote sustainable development strategies, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has not only formulated sustainable development goals, but also established a framework to help strengthen internal decision-making within the organization. , in order to deepen and promote this concept, the Civil Society and Local Governance Research Center of the National Chengchi University Academy of Social Sciences and the Taiwan Social Impact Research Institute jointly organized the "Taiwan Social Value Lecture Series (1)" on August 18, and specially invited the "United Nations "UNDP SDG Impact Standards Certified Training Lecturer", Professor Shen Jianwen of National Central University gave an incisive discussion on "How Taiwan improves impact management through "UNDP SDG Impact Standards".
Jiang Mingxiu, professor of the Department of Public Affairs at National Chengchi University, served as the introductor, Chen Meiling, chairman of the Taiwan Local Creation Foundation, served as the moderator, and invited Chen Dingming, president of Dharma Drum College of Arts and Sciences, and Wu Jiayu, executive director of the Taiwan Social Impact Research Institute, to serve as panellists. Moderator Chen Meiling mentioned that Taiwan cannot just talk about initiatives and theories, but needs to explore how to practice it. Therefore, it is particularly emphasized that Taiwan must focus on improving impact management, especially UNDP SDG Impact Standards has gradually attracted world attention. This issue is particularly important and requires everyone to understand and act together.
Keynote speaker Shen Jianwen specifically mentioned impact assessment. In addition to paying attention to positive changes in organizational results, it is also necessary to assess negative, expected and unexpected, major and secondary impacts, emphasizing that impact assessment is not just a tool for production reporting. , or used to compare the strengths and weaknesses of plans with other organizations, but a framework to help construct internal management and decision-making of the organization. Through the SDG impact standard, it integrates impact management and SDGs concepts as an internal decision-making, practice, and achievement of the organization. A blueprint for sustainable goals, this framework is not only applicable to corporate ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) sustainable management plans, but also to various types of organizations such as schools, third departments, and government units.
During the comprehensive discussion, the guests also enthusiastically asked questions and discussed how to conduct monetization evaluation through SDG impact standards, so as to continuously evolve internal management decisions, meet the needs of affected stakeholders, and optimize sustainable development goals.
